How it Works:
Teams of no larger than 10 members must be formed prior to this event. Each team must allocate 2-3 members (depending on the game) to attend a color game (team members may attend more than one game). The team members that have been chosen for a certain game meet up with other members from different teams also attending this certain game. These teams together will make an alliance. Each color game will consist of 2-3 alliances. The team members in the winning alliance will get to take back 1 point to their team. The team with the most points wins.
There will be a Holi celebration (dance) as games go on.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE PART OF A TEAM TO COME. YOU CAN COME FOR FUNNN!
What is Provided:
The $6.00 ($8.00 if you didn't register online) fee covers the initial 3 oz of colored powder given to each person at the beginning of the event. Also, it covers the 3.5 oz of colored powder given before each game you attend. Any other bags of color needed will be $2.00.
Games:
Color Tag: Each alliance will be wearing different colored wrist bands for identification. Alliances must chase the other alliance members and throw color at them. The alliance with the least amount of color on them wins. 3 alliances, teams may send 2-3 members out. There will be 4 rounds of color tag, each being 7-10 minutes long.
Sharks and Minnows: One alliance will be the "Sharks" and the other will be the "Minnows". Each alliance will be wearing different colored wrist bands for identification. The sharks will be standing in a line across the center length of the football field. The minnows have to run past the center, evading the the sharks, which tag the minnows by hitting them with a certain color. The last four people standing wins. The alliances will switch positions (sharks become minnows) after 1st set is over. 2 alliances, teams may send 2-3 members out. There will be 4 rounds of Sharks and Minnows, each being about 7 minutes long.
Tug of War: Just like any other game of tug of war, both alliances will be pulling on a rope, trying to pull the other alliance over a marked line which divides them in half. However, there is a catch, the players not pulling the rope will be throwing color at the opposite alliance members that are pulling the rope. The players that are throwing color will switch with the members pulling the rope. The game is best two out of three. 2 alliances, teams may send 1-2 members. There will be 3 rounds of tug of war, each being about 7-10 minutes long.
Color Dodgeball (Game Involves Water): Each alliance will be on one half of the football field, played like regular dodgeball, but with color filled water balloons. As the game progresses, more balloons will be fed into play. Last one standing wins. 2 alliances, teams may send out 2-5 members. There will be 4 rounds of Color Dodgeball, each being about 10 minutes long.
